Silt Fence

Filters silt, sediment and other contaminants from runoff water and distributed soil surrounding construction sites. This restricts the loss of costly soil while allowing water to filter efficiently into the ecosystem. Northwest Wattles dba Arrow Construction Supply are a low cost answer to erosion and soil runoff. Being relatively lightweight, they are easy to transport and can be set in place quickly for immediate, yet long lasting erosion control. Wattles can replace silt fences, straw bales, earth berms, and sandbags. Wattles are easy to install and easy to maintain.

Flat Ground Projects: Ideal for bare lots along the edge of curbs and driveways, around drains and inlets, and on and around stock piles. Use on flat surfaces or slopes to prevent erosion and sediment pollution on construction sites. Utilize as water bars on access roads or along sidewalks to prevent sediment run off onto pavement and into gutters.

Slopes: Place in shallow trenches along the contour of newly constructed or disturbed slopes. Wattles help stop overland flow, decrease water velocity, reduce sheet erosion and prevent rill and gully development.

Erosion Control Blankets (ECB's)

A temporary protective blanket laid on top of bare soil, commonly made of straw, jute, wood fiber, coconut fiber coir, or synthetics. They are designed for immediate to long-term erosion protection and vegetation formation assistance on severe slopes, channels, and shorelines.

Gabion Baskets offer an environmentally sensitive solution to soil retention slope stabilization. Gabions are built from high strength double twisted hexagonal mesh filled with natural hard durable stone and connected together to create a monolithic mass structure capable of undergoing structural movement without any loss of structural integrity.

Reno Mattresses used for river bank and scour protection, channel linings for erosion control, and embankment stability. They are filled with rock at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures to promote rapid growth of natural vegetation. All the physical and mechanical properties of Maccaferri Reno mattresses meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM A975-97. The base section of the Reno mattress is divided into compartments and filled with stones at the project site. With lids secured, Reno mattresses form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures.

Turbidity Barriers or FSC Units (Floating Silt Curtains)

Provide an effective and price sensitive system for isolating silt or other hazardous materials in aquatic environments. FSC products have been used for several years to isolate hazardous materials within a body of water. Common applications include isolating silts and particulate matter with a solid curtain. Also excellent for shoreline construction where work is done in the water and construction activity stirs up silt from the bottom, or silt is introduced by placing rocks, rip-rap, etc.

Coir Mats & Logs

Coir mats & logs are manufactured from 100% woven coconut fiber twine. They are highly suitable for severe erosion control problems such as steep slopes, high velocity flow channels, as well as the stabilization of stream banks and shorelines. Coir mats & logs provide erosion protection where vegetative establishment is expected to be slow.

Sediment Control Devices & Inlet Protection


Siltsack® is a sediment control device used during construction that mounts under the grate in catch basins. Siltsack® is made of a permeable geotextile that allows water to pass through but prevents silt and sediment from clogging the drain system.

Gutterbuddy® is a sediment control device that is installed above ground and can be formed around or across the curb inlet. Gutterbuddy® is made from recycled, synthetic fibers that filter out sediment and debris. Built-in overflows drain water more quickly during an extreme event to prevent ponding.

Triangular Silt Dike is a reusable, multi-purpose alternative to rock check dams. Made of lightweight and durable materials, Triangular Silt Dikes® weigh just 7 to 9 lbs. per seven foot section. A protective apron on both sides of the dike prevents erosion and failure.

TrashGuard is a patented storm water pretreatment device that captures debris, sediment and floatables. TrashGuard is easy to install and maintain and costs a fraction of other pretreatment devices currently available. TrashGuard has extensive testing and an available calculator to assist design professionals in selecting the correct screen size for their particular project.

GutterEEL is a highly effective sediment-control product used at construction sites to prevent suspended soils from contaminating area streams and wetlands during storm events. It is sediment tube filled with an effective filter ballast material, consisting of 100% shredded, recycled tire rubber. The Gutter Eel is used on any active construction site where soils have been disturbed. The Eel is used to filter runoff from construction sites at storm water inlets.

GutterGator is a reusable inlet protector designed for high flow volumes while maintaining maximum sediment retention. With its unique multi-dimensional outer filter combined with a rigid inner frame, it maintains a low profile to the curb preventing damage.

Hitch Hiker

Developed by ACF Environmental to help simplify the removal of storm inlet grates.

Siltbox Reusable Inlet Protection is a reusable inlet protection device used to protect inlet structures from sediment and debris during construction. The heavy duty frame forms a sturdy barricade over most drop inlets. The high-flow geotextile filter skirt stops sediment and debris while allowing the filtered water to leave the site. Built in overflows prevent ponding during major wet weather events. Siltbox attaches easily to the inlet grate with provided attachment hooks. The high flow filter is reusable and replaceable when necessary.

Inlet Filter Installation Instructions:

1. Remove sediment, debris, ice and snow from the inlet grate surface and surrounding area.

2. Verify fit by placing filter over inlet grate to ensure that Inlet Filter extends at least one inch beyond the front and both curb ends. The overlap slows water flow and starts filtering sediment and debris before water drops into the inlet.

3. Position the mat. Place Inlet Filter on grate with the net side down, flush to the back edge and extending beyond the grate opening on the front and both sides. The zip ties attach Inlet Filter to the inlet grate cover WITHOUT LIFTING THE GRATE COVER.

4. Insert zip ties. Lift Inlet Filter slightly to enable you to see the first grate bar from the edge of the grate cover. Push the zip tie down through the Inlet Filter and loop under the grate bar. Insert the pointed end of the zip tie about 2" away from the first zip tie penetration and push back up through the filter. Push the pointed end of the zip tie into the receiving end just enough to hold ends loosely. LEAVE ZIP TIES LOOSE UNTIL ALL TIES ARE LOOPED THROUGH THE MATS AROUND THE GRATES. Repeat Step 4 until all zip ties are installed loosely.

5. Tighten zip ties. After attaching all of the zip ties, re-position Inlet Filter to completely cover and overlap the grate. Pull free end of zip-ties hand tight to anchor Inlet Filter to the grate. Cut off free end of zip ties to leave a 1" tail.

Inlet Filter Maintenance Instructions:

Inlet Filter will collect a lot of sediment. Clean Inlet Filter while mounted on the grate, even if ponded water surrounds the inlet. This unique feature ensures all water entering the grate is filtered. Sweep sides and top of Inlet Filter to remove sediment and debris after each rain event.

1. Remove sediment from the sides of the filter by sweeping away from Inlet Filter.

2. Remove sediment from the top of the filter by sweeping off of Inlet Filter.

Inlet Filter is prepared for the next rain event.

Cellular Confinement Systems


Geocells are a lightweight, flexible mat made of high density polyethylene strips. These strips are ultrasonically bonded together to form an extremely strong, honeycomb configuration. A variety of fill materials can be placed within the confinement system: soil, sand, aggregate, concrete, etc. Used for applications such as ground stabilization, slope erosion control, retaining walls, stream crossing, channel erosion control and embankments.

Dust Control


Dust Control measures are used to stabilize the soil from wind erosion and reduce dust caused by construction activities. Maintaining an effective dust control program helps keep the lighter soils (silt, clay, etc.) on the site and sustains the textural qualities necessary for good vegetative growth. Dust palliatives and grinding treatments are just some of the products that we stock.

Draining Solutions

Sheet Drains / Drain Boards Aggregate Free Drainage System

MiraDRAIN® is a high-performance drainage composite consisting of a three-dimensional, high impact, creep resistance polymeric core, and a selection of engineered anti-clogging filter fabric. The filter fabric is factory-bonded on individual dimples of the molded core to minimize fabric intrusion into flow channels caused by backfill pressure. The fabric serves as a filter medium to prevent the passage of soil particles into the core while allowing sub-grade water to pass freely.

J-Drain SWD® (Site Water Drainage) is a composite turf drainage system consisting of a 3-dimensional, high flow, drainage core and a non-woven, needle-punched filter fabric. The filter fabric is wrapped and bonded to the drainage core, preventing intrusion of the filter fabric into the flow channels during the backfilling process. Soil particles are held back by the filter fabric allowing water to pass through to the drainage core allowing water to be collected and conveyed to the discharge point. Available in 12, 18, 24, & 36 inch widths. Roll lengths are 165 feet.

Trench Drain

This is a specific type of floor drain containing a dominant trough or channel shaped body. It is used for the rapid evacuation of surface water or for the containment of utility lines or chemical spills.

The Dura Slope trench drain system consists of lightweight, modular sections for easier handling and installation and reduced freight to the site. A built-in slope of 0.7% allows optimal flow rates to be maintained system wide; neutral sections are also available.

Channel Drains

The NDS Pro Series is a lightweight Channel drain system with interlocking joints, so connections are made quickly and easily. The modular design offers flexibility as each 20" section of channel can be snapped together for longer runs or divided down to lengths as short as 4" for smaller, interlocking sections.

Lightweight parts connect easily to sewer and drain pipe and fittings or SCH 40 pipe and fittings, and side and bottom outlets can be connected anywhere along the channel run.

Catch Basins ▪ Grates

We offer a complete line of catch basins and grates for residential and commercial storm water management solutions. NDS catch basins have a sump area that collect debris and prevent clogging of the pipeline, and grates are available in a variety of colors to blend in with surrounding surfaces. Depending on the size of the round, square, or atrium grates, they may fit directly into a riser of pipe, sewer and drain fitting, or our catch basins.

Culvert, Gaskets & Bands

A culvert is a pipe that allows water to pass beneath a roadway, driveway, railway or embankment. Culverts will be buried at some depth below the surface, aligned to permit passage of water with minimum obstruction to the watercourse. For culvert protection, a minimum of 1 foot of cover over culvert is recommended.

Polyethylene (CPE) Pipe

High-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) has become widely used in the construction market due to its light weight, resistance to corrosion and long life. HDPE pipe is used for storm sewers, highway drainage and retention/detention systems.

Water Screening

Designed for concrete, plastic & metal pipe, these corrosion free racks are designed to withstand the conditions of pond structures - rough handling, high/low temperatures and long term weather exposure. Structural plastic racks are a great alternative to painted and galvanized steel racks for use in storm water management ponds and general water screening.

RainTank Underground Storage

Atlantis RainTank® storm water detention/retention and infiltration systems provide underground storage of storm water. After a rain event fills the RainTank®, storm water will either infiltrate into the ground, drainage system, or be recycled for irrigation. This system provides an alternative to storm water basins and a more efficient alternative to other underground systems.
