Benefits
Long-term field evaluations have shown that the proper use of paving fabrics in asphalt overlays of flexible pavements increased pavement life by up to 50 percent. Therefore, using non-woven fabrics in asphalt overlay projects will reduce maintenance costs and allow for improved effectiveness of your pavement system. Since studies state that paving fabrics provide the performance equivalency of 30mm (1.2 in) of asphaltic concrete thickness, our geotextiles are the most economical interlayer options.

Pavement Waterproofing Membranes

Are excellent for waterproofing joints and cracks. The waterproofing membrane is comprised of a rubberized asphalt waterproofing element and a non-woven pavement reinforcing grade polypropylene fabric laminated to the outer surface.

The waterproofing membrane shall be comprised of a rubberized asphalt waterproofing element and a non-woven pavement reinforcing grade polypropylene fabric laminated to the outer surface.

Crafco GeoFilm is a peel-and-stick waterproofing membrane that can be applied to all joints and cracks. It prevents water penetration and subsequent moisture damage.

Applications particularly suitable for GeoFilm: box culverts, retaining walls, abutment backwalls, concrete pipe joints, manholes, headwalls, median and paved shoulder inlets, catch basins, barrier median inlets, and foundations.

Pavement Reinforcing Grids

Retards reflective cracking in asphalt overlays.

PavePrep is a highly effective stress relief interlayer material consisting of high-density mastic between two layers of rugged polyester fabric. Installed in strips over cracked, spalled concrete or asphalt, PavePrep intercepts and reduces the stresses induced by thermal expansion and contraction, thereby reducing the tendency of crack reflecting through the overlay. PavePrep also prevents moisture interpenetration which can contribute to further structural decay of the surface and underlying pavement. GlasGrid® Pavement Reinforcement Mesh manufactured by Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics is a high-stiffness fiberglass mesh that reinforces asphalt concrete overlays in pavement construction. Since 1988, GlasGrid® has been proven to prolong the pavement maintenance period life by reducing the effects of reflective cracking caused by traffic loading, age hardening and temperature cycling. GlasGrid® has been proven effective in all climates and geographic areas, performing equally well in desert conditions and in near arctic regions that are subject to intense cold and seasonal temperature fluctuations.

TruPave® Engineered Paving Mat from Owens Corning is a pavement interlayer designed to create a moisture-resistant barrier, retard reflective cracking and stand up to high-temperature hot mix designs. TruPave® can be used in conjunction with your standard paving materials. Whether you are using HMA overlays or chip seals to maintain your streets you can get additional benefit by using TruPave® as an interlayer.

TruPave® is uniquely designed and comprised of 60 percent fiberglass and 40 percent polyester. The resulting paving mat, when applied in conjunction a hot AC tack coat, will provide an excellent moisture barrier and give much needed tensile strength to your roadway to delay reflective cracking. Because of this design, TruPave® is also 100% recyclable and millable when the pavement reaches the end of its’ useful life. This means no additional dumping fees and a long term cost savings. TruPave® can extend the performance of your pavement rehabilitation investment by up to 500 percent.

Recommended applications: Spot crack repair, micro surfacing, chip seal, mill & structural overlay, non-structural overlay. TruPave® will help reduce long-term maintenance and rehabilitation costs on highways, parking lots, runways and even driveways.
